SEQUEL makes it easy everyone to access information on the System i. But what if everyone shouldn’t have access? SEQUEL also gives you full control of what information is made available and to whom. The following functions let you control and monitor SEQUEL activity:
SEQUEL works with the i5/OS object authority you’re familiar with. You can restrict certain commands, libraries, or interactive processing. You can prevent users from leaving work files in the system, tying up system resources, or overwriting existing application files.

SEQUEL lets you use record-level security to restrict users to the subset of data they need in a file. For example, the Sales Manager for the Mountain region can see results only for that region. You can use record-level security for all types of SEQUEL requests where you need to restrict access, including run-time prompts, data downloads, sales analysis, and customer statements.

SEQUEL lets you restrict access to sensitive data on the System i through its Administrator/Field Level Authorization function. You can manage access authorization at the library, file, or field level using exclusion or inclusion rules.
SEQUEL’s Administrator/Auditing function helps you keep track of the SEQUEL requests run on your system. You can present analyzed audit data information or graphs.
